I was privledged enough to see a local drug rehab facility enjoying their Halloween holiday at a local event held recently. The group and counselors were having fun together enjoying the event while still being able to maintain sobriety. It’s amazing to see individuals who are battling their addictions actually start to brighten up and enjoy something with the dangerous crutch of drugs. Many today suffer from having to drink to have fun or take something to “be able to be themselves” in a group when the individual is battling with the issue of low self esteem or some other similar issue. Being able to have fun is key to this life and being able to have fun and still be able to remember everything that is going on is amazing. I hope to see more events like this soon as it shows that people really can turn around and make their lives better.

I’ve been amazed by the work I’ve seen done by many drug rehabilitation facilities throughout their communities. Each and every drug rehab is setting out to improve the general public in one way or another. Be it 12 step NA or AA programs or an intense inpatient program, each group is setting out after the same goal, a drug free world. The way each group participates may be different but each and every group is helping make the world better. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising and any rehabilitation group helping out the community is a good form of advertising. The display of a good rehab center has to do with the amount of time they are putting into the community. The work done both within the group and outside the group benefit the entire world.
